Whether listening to classical music at Gendarmenmarkt, at night at the Botanical Garden or at the side of the road during Christopher Street Day: Spend the – hopefully sunny – July outside!

Artwork under the open sky: The second edition of the Open Air Gallery at Oberbaumbrücke will take place on 1 July. More than 100 artists showcase their works directly on the bridge between Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain.

The Berlin Fashion Week celebrates its second edition in 2018 from 3 to 7 July. More than 3,500 designers show their latest collections, for example, at Kronprinzenpalais, Station Berlin and Kraftwerk Berlin.

From 7 July, C/O Berlin presents the exhibition ’Wim Wenders. Instant Stories‘. 240 polaroids taken by Wenders himself are on show - for the first and only time in Germany. The polaroid camera was Wenders‘s companion from the late 1960s until the early 80s. You will see photos of movie sets, travels and friends.

Even though Germany is no longer part of the World Cup, the Fanmeile between Brandenburg Gate and Siegessäule is still on. The best teams will play the finale on 15 July. Wintergarten Berlin will also show all matches from the round of 16 until the finale in its courtyard. The current show bands will play live after each match – free entry. You are also invited to watch all matches in the lobby of the Hotel Palace Berlin. Enjoy special World Cup drinks and food!

The Botanical Garden Berlin opens its doors for Botanische Nacht on 20 and 21 July. On its tenth anniversary, ten magical theme worlds will fascinate visitors. 160 artists, musicians and performers will be around!

On 21 and 22 July, the Lesbisch-schwule Stadtfest around Nollendorfplatz presents LGBTI projects, clubs and organizations. Be delighted by live DJ sets, music and programs on stage and enjoy food, cocktails and sparkling wine.

The Christopher Street Day will make its 40th tour through Berlin on 28 July. The colorful demonstration starts at Kurfürstendamm/Joachimsthaler Straße and goes through Charlottenburg and Schöneberg, past Siegessäule, to Brandenburg Gate. On this occasion, the Hotel Palace Berlin has a special ‘Pink Gin Prosecco Cocktail’ for 12.50 euros on offer.

In the evening, at 8 p.m., Kurfürstendamm will host the adidas Runners City Night. The five-kilometer-course takes runners up and down Ku’damm, the ten-kilometer runners take another lap on Kantstraße. Be sure to cheer them on!

Musical Mix

Last chance: The One Grand Show at Friedrichstadt-Palast will only be on show until 5 July. Go time traveling in a former revue theater with the lead actor and search for ‘the one.’

The Classic Open Air at Gendarmenmarkt features works of Wagner, the best of Italian operas and much more from 5 to 9 July. A concert by Earth, Wind & Fire ends this year's open air.

The Komische Oper Festival from 10 to 15 July marks this season’s ending – and offers all current new productions: Semele, Die Gezeichneten, Pelléas et Mélisande, Blaubart, Die Nase and Anatevka.

New this summer: Opernfest by the Berlin Opera Academy – an international summer school for young opera singers – from 14 July to 30 August. Die Fledermaus, Hänsel und Gretel, Die Zauberflöte, L’Incoronazione di Poppea and concerts will be staged in special locations such as St.-Elisabeth-Kirche, Musikbrauerei, the former Stummfilmkino Delphi and Mendelssohn Remise. Tickets are available from 20 euros; an opera pass for 99 euros gives you access to all events.

Schlager and pop music at Olympiastadion Berlin: Germany’s schlager superstar Helene Fischer gives a concert on 8 July; Ed Sheeran takes the stage on 19 July.
