History of the Hotel Palace Berlin

Opening 1968

The Hotel Palace Berlin opens its doors on 28 May with 188 rooms and 264 hotel beds. Karl Heinz Pepper, the owner of the hotel, as well as big names from politics, economy and culture celebrate the opening together. Besides the rooms and suites, the new hotel offers banquet halls, a restaurant, a grill and a cocktail bar.

The Palace is part of the Europa-Center which was also brought to life by Karl Heinz Pepper and which opened in 1965 as Europe’s first shopping mall. The center with the adjoining hotel was built after an American model.

Twenty years after its opening, the Hotel Palace Berlin receives an extension: The new west wing of the hotel houses 102 additional rooms.
